The RMAS Polo Club was originally formed in the 1870s and was supported by both officers and cadets, although the number involved was never more than twenty. The football ground was used to start with, and then the riding field. Later a field was rented near Wellington College, but with increased afternoon studies this ground was really too distant.

The club was closed in 1894 and was not resurrected until 1998, since when it has gone from strength to strength. Officer Cadets are introduced to the game of polo at RMAS and the club has become the main feeder for the Army Polo Association (www.cspa.org.uk/CSPA-APAaboutus.html) and the Combined Services Polo Association (www.cspa.org.uk/).
The Club is currently thriving with a growing civilian and miltary membership. The Club is non-profit making and reinvests all its income back into the club and achieving its aims.
The aims of the Club are:
· To teach the rules and principles of polo to Cadet and Staff Members.
· To encourage horsemanship and knowledge of polo that will be taken forward on commissioning.
· To participate in matches and tournaments organised by the committee, APA and CPSA.
· Enable a number of Military and Civilian Members to play for the Polo Club.
· To provide a livery service at the Polo Yard for all members.
· To play an active role with the APA and CSPA in promoting and representing the sport.
· To provide horses for the APA or CPSA without prejudice to any of the above aims.
In order to provide a healthy foundation for the future of Army Polo.
